Normal skin appears to have an even color. Melanin is the substance that gives our skin its color. Sometimes, our skin becomes darker and produces too much melanin; this abnormality is called hyperpigmentation.
Hyperpigmentation is a complex skin disorder resulting in parts of the skin becoming darker. This can appear as brown or dark spots or patches.

Certain medications, such as birth control
TREATMENT
A combination of skin resurfacing and pigmented lesion laser treatment. During your treatment, two different wavelengths will be used to break down the pigmentation, reducing the appearance of dark spots.
